GenresRomanceYoung Adult

My Rating:

Synopsis: Alive, Kate Dunlap breezed through high school with meaningless friendships and relative ease. But after an accidental overdose ends Kate’s human existence, she’s granted the opportunity of a lifetime. Return to Earth. Save Jake Barton. Prove her worth.

Success guarantees Kate an all access backstage pass to heaven. But as she falls in love for the first time, the reformed superficial social butterfly must risk her chance at redemption to guarantee Jake’s life on Earth.

DISCLAIMER: I received a review copy of this book (provided by XpressoBookTours) in exchange for an honest review.

Characters/Plot: Kate is probably your average protagonist, but I definitely liked her in general. Her guardian, Seth, is kind and gentle, from the views given during reading. Jake, oh Jake. Not only is that one of my favorite names, but his character definitely struck me as someone I wish I could talk with in real life. The other angel characters were extremely likable as well. Having them easily hear Kate's thoughts made the story believable, and enjoyable. The content was so . . . I've read few angel books, and most were not as intriguing. The story is heart-felt and wonderful. Down the very last sweet gestures.

My Honest Opinions/Thoughts: Right at the start, I was sucked in. I was trying to sit down and read this book for nearly two weeks, and now that I have gotten into it, I am so glad. Compared to many books that involve this topic, I definitely liked this one better than most (with the exception of a few). I was listening to a playlist while reading, and the songs just fell into play perfectly. Mainly the song the British group, Collabro, sings: Come What May. Perfect song to listen to while reading about Kate trying to convince Jake that having a friend is not so bad. A great plot, and full recommendations that you check it out for yourself.
