MY FRESHMAN YEAR OF FABULOUS BY JENNIFER DIGIOVANNI | REVIEW & GIVEAWAY

When Avery Thornton needs to escape a first day of school disaster, she ducks into an equipment room to hide and meets someone else who’s also having a really bad day. Eli Fields just got demoted to third string on the football team, a sport he doesn’t even really want to play. On the hunt for a dance partner before her competition season begins, Avery discovers Eli’s secret, non-football life outside of school. She thinks he could be the dance partner she’s dreamed about. But Eli wants no part of dancing with Avery. When someone else steps in as Avery’s partner for competitions, she and Eli begin practicing steps “just for fun.”

But, is that really all that Eli wants? And although Avery has found a perfect partner, she’s learning that perfection doesn’t necessarily equal happiness.

My Freshman Year of Fabulous (School Dayz Book 4)My Freshman Year of Fabulous by Jennifer DiGiovanni
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

It's been a while since I've read a title from Swoon Romance. But this would be officially the first book I've read by Jennifer DiGiovanni. Why I've waited so long, I don't know. I do know that I definitely want to go back and enjoy the other books in this series.
My Freshman Yea r of Fabulous follows Avery, who is the younger sister of Becca. As the title implies, Averay is a freshman in highschool and her first day starts out pretty bad. I've never experienced a real first day of highschool, so this was as close for me as I'll ever get. When Eli is introduced, oh my gosh. I immediately liked him. Avery's friend, Corinne was great. The few bits of Travis (a previous character, I believe?) confirmed that I need to go back to the other books.
I could tell that the author was familiar with every detail of the characters and the school. The storyline had a great flow and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

The bonus novella was equally awesome. I loved being able to continue without the story being gone.
